Reptiles at my House

Well, you'd never find real live reptiles at my house but my first few pictures with my repaired camera were those of my first Reptilian Lace sock.  A lovely pattern in the summer issue of Knitty created by Sivia Harding.  I'm using Lorna's Laces Baltic Sea for those socks and the beads are very muted colours of green.  I wish I had found some with a bit more contrast, maybe even just a bit more sparkle but I think they still do look quite good.  I still, of course, have to get sock #2 started and finished.  But here are some shots of the first sock and now I can see how my camera had problems - these close-ups would have never come out without being totally blurred before it got fixed.

I'm having difficulties uploading my 3rd picture which shows a bit more of the beading details so unfortunatley, you can't really see the beads very well.  I'll try again later!!!

Let's try again:

The beads show up a little in this picture

Missed the kids?  Well, here they are, alive and well...... and JR is almost sitting unsupported.

The adorable sweater is Kieran by BeesKnees Knits and made especially for JR by a good knitterly friend.

Enjoy the weekend!!!

I'm so glad you got your camera back in time for the first day of kindergarten. The socks you are knitting look great! I have only knit with beads a couple of times.

I can't believe how big JR is now. And the hair! How cute!

Cheers,
Rachel

The socks are wonderful! I'll have to put that pattern on my list. I'm going to link to that pic of JR on the blog, it's just way too cute. So glad that your camera is all better now!

The socks look fabulous! I'm going to have to get brave some time and try the bead thing.
And cute pics of the kids as usual, they're both growing up on you.
Have a great weekend!

Ahhh, the kids are so cute! I can't believe how big JR is getting - he's turning into quite the little man.

Love the knitting - again, I adore pretty much everything you make - wish I had your talent, Uli!

The kids are darling! JR has grown so much! He's looking like his own person now. Erika is precious as always. Love both of their sweaters!
